Parabalaenoptera baulinensis
Taxonomy
Parabalaenoptera baulinensis was named by Zeigler et al. (1997) [California Academy of Sciences
]. Its type specimen is CASG 66660, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Balinas Point, which is in a Messinian marine mudstone in the Santa Cruz Mudstone Formation of California. It is the type species of Parabalaenoptera.
